An exhibit of paintings of women, on loan from 45 French museums, has opened at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

“Femme, femme, femme: Paintings of Women in French Society from Daumier to Picasso from the Museums of France” continues through June 3.

In addition to Daumier and Picasso, the exhibit of more than 80 paintings includes work by Renoir, Manet, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec. All depict the evolution of women’s roles.
